About us

❗ About this project

Defend Now is a private initiative dedicated to the detection and reporting of cybercrime. Our mission is to systematically identify and document illegal online activities, particularly phishing domains, and forward this information to the appropriate domain registrars and relevant authorities to protect potential victims and aid in the pursuit of offenders.

⚡ Our engagement

Why are we all in on Defend Now? Well, the internet is a great tool, but it also has a lot of harmful stuff that can put people and businesses at risk. Unfortunately, the folks behind these attacks often don’t face any real consequences.

That’s why Defend Now was started. We want to keep internet users and businesses safe because we know just how much damage cybercrime can cause. Our founder, Damon, saw this need firsthand when he was part of the reporting team at Satowa Network (which is no longer around). He worked on spotting phishing sites and reaching out to domain providers to take them down. His experiences really showed us how important it is to take action against online threats, and that’s what led to the launch of Defend Now.

🤔 How It All Began

Defend Now started because we saw a real need for better ways to detect cybercrime. Between December 2023 and February 2024, our founder, Damon, worked on a reporting team at Satowa Network. There, he learned a lot about spotting and handling online threats, especially phishing.

After Satowa Network shut down, we tried to create something new between August and September 2024, but that didn’t pan out.

Not giving up, we really got the ball rolling for Defend Now in February 2025. We set up a Discord community, wrote up the necessary documents, built some automated bots, and figured out our initial messaging. By March 2025, we were ready to officially launch.

Later that month, we kicked off the Defend Now Website Database to help our team keep track of reported cases and online threats. This database logs important details like the date something was spotted, specific URLs, the type of threat, the domain registrar (if we could find it), an internal case number, the status of the case, whether the domain is on our blacklist, if it’s been reported to the registrar, any legal actions taken, and if the website is offline. There’s also a notes section for more detailed info on each case.

In May 2025, we hit a big milestone by starting our first legal actions against harmful websites, which you can see tracked in our database. This shows we’re serious about going after the bad actors in the right ways.

🤝 How You Can Get Involved
